I ride competitively - up to PSG level dressage with 18 years young 'Trevor ' whom I have taken from Elementary to PSG.
My lovely big 'Forever' and I were Champions at the British Dressage Winter Regional championships and we competed at the BD National Winter Dressage Championships in 2012.
I'm a BHS Accredited Professional Instructor and UKCC qualified dressage coach. Both riding and instructing to me is an essential element for high level saddle fitting advice.
It is important to understand how a horse moves and feels, and how the saddle allows freedom of their movement - or not. Quite often saddle fits require an assessment of rider effectiveness - an influential factor to consider.
I'm proud to have represented Wales from 2011 - 2018 at all levels through to Advanced Medium on both my horses.
I'm passionate about research and improving wellbeing and performance though scientifically proven knowledge. I was instrumental in the recent (and peer reviewed) Hartpury research on T18 - helping saddle fitters all be more consistent in their methodology. And I have been delighted to join some working groups looking at improving the saddle fitting profession as a whole. Exciting times and great to be asked to be involved in a subject and job I am passionate about.
Daughter Francesca has represented Wales BD Youth since she was 10 years old, and was selected to represent Great Britain internationally at Young Rider in 2014/16. Having completed her university degree in Equine Science, she is now riding professionally as a working pupil with International Dressage rider, judge Elite Coach, and Director of Dressage at Hickstead, Dane Rawlins. She is competing at senior Small Tour internationally.
I enjoy regular training with Dianne Breeze and Dane Rawlins, and occasionally Im fortunate to get the odd lesson with Charlotte Dujardin!
